Canadian Tire had a home owners kit but it is discontinued I believe, unfortunate as I would invest in a feasable type of renewable energy I could install on my home myself.

It’s not efficient enough for mass power production. The wind farms that do exist now are all subsidised by the government. Other wise they would operate at a loss. You can use far less land space and locate it near the area that needs power by building a nuclear or clean coal plant and get far more energy. A wind farm takes up far more land by its very nature. Then it has to be placed far away from the customer and thus more land and materials is required to run the power to the users.
